I can’t open videos (MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV)

GOM Player also uses “Intel Quick Sync video” as supported processor. When playing files in this environment, the CPU processes the file playback and therefore the processing speed will increase. Therefore, the performance of your computer may also deteriorate.

As of GOM Media Player version 2.2.56.5181, you may experience playback problems with videos (MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, etc.) that require H.264 codec on Intel Quick Sync systems.

If you say you can’t open some videos, try to play the video once again after completing the following steps in order to play these files properly:

1. Open GOM Player.
2. Press F5 to open the settings menu.
3. Go to the “Filter” menu.
4. Click the “Codec” tab.
5. Under “Codec Behavior Settings”, “Play using Intel Quick Sync Video (improves playback capability).” Uncheck it.
5. Try closing the menu and reopening the video you couldn’t open.

This setting will ensure playback, but it is not the default setting as it may affect the performance of your computer profoundly. We recommend that you restore it after watching the video.
